Visual research of the local area was a key part of the Rich Mix identity. I was briefed to capture the spirit of East London with its multi-faceted influences – the Bengali Bethnal Green, the Shoreditch ‘cool’ and the Bishopgate’s Business attitude all a stone’s throw from the building. Around the time a ‘mysterious’ street artist started these brilliant typographic shop fronts – later to reveal himself as Eine. They worked perfectly with the localised identity of Rich Mix.
